This British sitcom revolves around the love lives of six friends in their thirties. The three women and three men often talk amongst themselves about the same events, but with entirely different views.

The beautiful Susan Walker (Sarah Alexander) used to date Patrick Maitland (Ben Miles), the cool, charismatic player who doesn't need to worry about being smart. Beauty therapist Sally Harper (Kate Isitt) is Susan's unashamedly vain best friend, who battles ageing with moisturizer and attractive men, such as Patrick.

Steve Taylor (Jack Davenport) gets together with Susan but can't seem to shake loose from his vivacious ex-girlfriend Jane Christie (Gina Bellman). The couple each bring their own baggage to the relationship - a crowd of friends and exes who talk about all aspects of sex and relationships on their quest to find true love.

Jeff Murdoch (Richard Coyle) is Steve's charming but 'hopeless when it comes to women' buddy who has an uncanny ability to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. He works in the same office as Susan, with whom he once had a disastrous fling.
