Pierce Brosnan's third outing as James Bond has one of the most famous opening sequences where Bond chases a boat along the River Thames ending up at The Millennium Dome (now The o2). The filming for this sequence used many London locations including various parts of the Thames, Wapping, Trinity Buoy Wharf, Vauxhall and the Isle of Dogs but also features Chatham Dockyard!
Further filming takes place in Bilbau for the opening scenes, Stowe Gardens in Buckinghamshire also features for a funeral scene and Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland stands in as MI6 headquarters

This, the 19th Bond movie and the third outing for Pierce Brosnan as 007, is a reasonably successful effort, which continues the solid work of GoldenEye, and is more tidy than its predecessor Tomorrow Never Dies. Brosnan seems more comfortable in the role of the super-suave spy, the regular elements (gals, gadgets 'n' gizmos, stunts and shunts) are all present and correct, and there's a strong, hard-hitting and topical story to savour.
Bond is embroiled in an all-action race to defuse an international power struggle as the world's oil supply hangs in the balance. Following the murder of a tycoon, 007 becomes bodyguard to his daughter (Sophie Marceau) who has been targeted by a psychotic terrorist (Robert Carlyle).
Worth watching.
