Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani pass by Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan on their first date. In reality, it’s Italy’s oldest shopping gallery, dating back to the 19th Century. If you want to visit this House of Gucci filming location in Milan, you’ll find it between the Piazza della Scala and Piazza del Duomo. Explore its two shopping arcades to browse its luxury brands – including Gucci.

Piazza Del Duomo

Look out for another real Milan location in House of Gucci, Piazza del Duomo in the city’s Centro Storico neighbourhood. Look out for the square early in the movie – the piazza’s grand buildings are hard to overlook. The square is named for Milan Cathedral (the Duomo, in Italian), one of Europe’s largest Gothic cathedrals, which stands alongside the entrance to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Milan Restaurant

The restaurant Patrizia and Maurizio go to on their date is Il Salumaio de Montenapoleone. Local press spotted Lady Gaga and Adam Driver filming House of Gucci’s restaurant scene in March 2021. The restaurant was established in 1957, serving Italian cuisine in a dining room and open air courtyard.

Masked Ball

Masked Ball
The masks worn in House of Gucci’s ball scene were made by Original Venice. Continuing the truly Italian theme of the movie, they’re a Venice-based shop whose masks are made by authentic local craftsmen.

And if you want to replicate the look, you can buy the masks seen in House of Gucci! Maurizio is seen wearing the Marciana eye mask, while Patrizia wears the Gold Dulcinea with Strass and Stick.

Wedding Church

Wedding Church
Patrizia and Maurizio’s wedding was filmed at Santa Maria in Campitelli on Piazza di Campitelli in Rome. Also known as Santa Maria in Portico for its location near the ancient Porticus Octaviae, the present day Baroque church was built in the 17th Century.

Behind the decadent costumes and floral arrangements, you can see the architecture of this Italian church location clearly in House of Gucci.

Gucci Lake House

The House of Gucci lake house is Villa Balbiano, a 16th Century property on the shores of Lake Como. In the movie, Aldo Gucci (Al Pacino) invites Maurizio and Patricia to his grand lakeside villa. There’s no camera trickery here – this is one of the most imposing properties in what’s already an upmarket area.

Villa Balbiano is a celebrated local landmark in the town of Ossuccio, close to the Swiss border. It was originally built by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, and it’s become grander with each successive owner.

The palazzo itself has been enlarged and improved, and the interiors don’t disappoint either. Its rooms are decorated with 300-year-old frescoes and furnished with antiques from Christie’s and Sotheby’s. You can stay at the Lake Como villa from House of Gucci for around £350,000 per week. Not a bargain break, but you probably expected that.

St Moritz

Gressoney-Saint-Jean and Gressoney-La-Trinite in Valle d'Aosta are House of Gucci’s St Moritz locations. Look out for the mountain towns during the Guccis’ ski trip where Patrizia clashes with Maurizio’s old friends. As the holiday rolls on, the mood grows increasingly tense as Patrizia realises she’s out of place, and starts to question Maurizio’s true relationship with Paola (Camille Cottin).

Gucci Chalet

The chalet location in House of Gucci is in Gressoney-Saint-Jean in the Aosta Valley in the Italian Alps. Exterior shots were filmed on the chalet’s balconies and The ski resort is at the foot of Monte Rosa in western Italy – while of course, the real Gucci chalet is in St Moritz, Switzerland.

St Moritz Ski Slopes

The skiing scenes in House of Gucci were filmed at the Gressoney-Saint-Jean-Weissmatten resort. Look out for the ski resort on Monte Rosa when the Gucci house party take to the slopes. This location is close to the spots where the villa scenes were filmed.

Rodolfo Gucci’s House

In House of Gucci the filming location for Rodolfo’s house is Villa Necchi Campiglio on Via Mozart, Milan. It’s a 1930s villa in the heart of Milan, boasting its own swimming pool and marble staircase. Built in 1935, Villa Necchi Campiglio was bequeathed to the nation’s Fondo Ambiente Italiano in 2001. As a result, this House of Gucci location is open to the public as an art museum.
