Look out for Trigger Point Season 2 filming locations including Wapping’s Tobacco Dock, Aldwych Station, Uxbridge, Canary Wharf, Dagenham, and Burgess Park in Southwark.

The ITV and Peacock series written by Daniel Brierley and produced by Line of Duty’s Jed Mercurio is back for a second season. Premiering on ITV1 at 9pm on 28th January 2024, Trigger Point Series 2 was filmed in and around London between February and May 2023.

Lana Washington (Vicky McClure) is back in London after training Ukraine-bound bomb disposal teams in Estonia. In Season 2, she’s moving on from the revelations of Season 1. But as the Metropolitan Police’s Expo squad take on new IED threats in the Capital, Lana faces personal challenges too.

Lana’s back on the team with Danny (Eric Shango) and Hass Rahim (Nabil Elouahabi). But so is her ex, DCI Thom Youngblood (Mark Stanley) – along with his new girlfriend DS Helen Morgan (Natalie Simpson).

Where Was Trigger Point Season 2 Filmed?

ITV’s Trigger Point Season 2 was filmed in Wapping Lane, Burgess Park, Dagenham, Uxbridge, Aldwych Station, and North London. Once again, the series takes the EXPO team across every corner of London.

Trigger Point’s Vicky McClure shared selfies with Jed Mercurio and the cast of the ITV drama on location in May 2023. And the cast talked about their experiences of filming in every corner of the city.

“We were filming in places like Dagenham and Uxbridge, so I got a good tour of Greater London.”
Natalie Simpson, DS Helen Morgan

The new series adds high profile and less well-known spots to the Trigger Point location list. Last season, the Jed Mercurio drama was filmed in Cambridge Road in Kilburn, St Paul’s Church in Harlow, the Forester Pub in Ealing, Central Mosque of Brent, Waterloo Bridge, Dartford Marshes in Kent, St Mary’s Gardens in Lambeth and Islington Assembly Hall.

You can catch up on all the existing Trigger Point locations here – but first, let’s find out more about the Trigger Point Season 2 filming locations.

Car Park

Episode 1 of Trigger Point’s power station scene was filmed on location in London in February 2023. The interior of the car park in the power station episode features more than expected. Originally, the scene was going to take place on the filming location’s rooftop – until the cast and crew had to adapt to wild weather.

“It was really cold! We were going to shoot it on a rooftop but the weather was so bad and there were problems flying the drone in high winds, so we had to move everything downstairs to the floor below, which made it a controllable environment to work in.”
Mark Stanley, DCI Thom Youngblood, ITV

The Trigger Point car park location is the Tobacco Dock car park on Wapping Lane. Scenes inside the multistorey car park were filmed on the top level of the car park, and on the rooftop. This is where the Expo team are looking out across the Thames and the Docklands, with Canary Wharf on the horizon.

Canary Wharf

Look out for the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf in the second series of Trigger Point. Canary Wharf features prominently and it’s seen from a few angles, including in the Docklands explosion scene. In the dramatic Season 2 moment, a fireball lights up the night sky before Canary Wharf’s lights go out.

London Underground

In Trigger Point Season 2, the Tube scenes were filmed at Aldwych station in London. The abandoned railway station sits near the junction of the Strand and Fleet Street. It only functioned for a short time, but has since become a popular filming location in everything from Mr Selfridge to Sherlock. And now, Aldwych station and its tunnels have become the location for the ‘Catch Us If You Can’ Underground scene.

“Mainly I'm just doing a lot of running. We filmed a scene in the underground tunnels in Aldwych in London and that was a really exhausting day – let’s just say I much prefer being an actor to being a bomb disposal person.”

If you want to visit the former Piccadilly line terminus at Aldwych, you can! The London Transport Museum lead regular tours, so check for upcoming dates and times.

Office Block

The ITV drama’s office scenes were filmed in the Charter Building in Uxbridge in spring 2023. It’s located on Charter Place in the centre of Uxbridge in West London, near the Tube station and high street.

The Park

The park location in Trigger Point Series 2 is Burgess Park in Camberwell, London. Southwark News spotted the Trigger Point cast and crew filming in Burgess Park in May 2023.

This sprawling green space is one of London’s largest parks, and the biggest in Southwark, with its boundaries reaching across from Camberwell and Walworth to Peckham.
