Grace Season 4 Locations List
CID Building
Once again, ITV’s Grace filming location for the CID HQ is an office building in Martlets Heights, Burgess Hill.
The area has appeared since Season 1, with the cast, crew and a row of police cars turning up to set the scene each year.
Multi Storey Car Park
DS Roy Grace and DS Glenn Branson park on the 5th Floor of the Norton Road car park in Hove in Season 4 Episode 1.
You can see out onto the backs of the houses on Church Road.
Old Steine Gardens
Look out for Old Steine Gardens, Brighton, in Grace Season 4 Episode 1. As the mystery unfolds at the start of “Dead Man’s Time”, you can see the southern end of Old Steine Gardens and a glimpse of its Brighton War Memorial.
It’s situated near the Royal Pavilion, which is just a little way offscreen during the phone call scene.
Daly’s Vintage Emporium
In Grace Season 4, “Dead Man’s Time”, the Daly’s Vintage Emporium location is at the corner of Trafalgar Lane and Gloucester Road in the North Laine area.
The shop unit’s really Julian Stephens Goldsmith. You can see some of the area’s creative and colourful murals in some shots, too.
The Flint House
Look out for The Flint House at Hanningtons as a restaurant location in ITV’s Grace, “Dead Man’s Time”. Branson uses it for his stakeout of Daly’s Vintage Emporium, and it appears in a couple of scenes after that.
It’s in the middle of the newly created pedestrian street, Hannington Lane, which runs along the back of the former department store.
Devil’s Dyke
Grace Season 4’s countryside scenes were filmed in the Devil’s Dyke area of the South Downs. It’s a mile-long valley 5 miles out of Brighton. This filming location is actually making a return – it’s already been featured in earlier Roy Grace films.
Some of the industrial locations featured in the series wouldn’t make a good day out, realistically – but we’re pleased to say that this one’s easy to visit!
Located just out Brighton, Devil’s Dyke is looked after by the National Trust. There’s even a car park, and a nearby pub.
Brighton Beach
Look out for Brighton Beach in “Want You Dead”, as the instantly recognisable Brighton filming location is back in ITV’s Grace in 2024.
Previously seen in Grace films like “Dead Simple”, the famous pebble beach plays a starring role as the second of Season 4’s mysteries gets underway.
Brighton Palace Pier
You can’t miss Brighton Palace Pier, another of the regular ITV Grace filming locations in Brighton. The iconic beachfront has cropped up regularly throughout the seasons. The beach location appear at the start of Season 4 Episode 2, “Want You Dead”, when a man is released from the railings.
Royal Pavilion Garden
The real Brighton Pavilion Garden is a Grace filming location in Season 4’s “Want You Dead” where it appears as a murder scene.
Look out for the Regency-era gardens as DS Roy Grace and DS Glenn Branson investigate a string of bloody murders around the city.
Royal Pavilion
The Royal Pavilion is a Grace location that needs no introduction, but you may not realise what’s inside. If you plan on visiting the Grace filming locations in Brighton, you can walk through the gardens and visit the Royal Pavilion itself.
Inside, it’s a royal palace that was used by King George IV and Queen Victoria. There are grand banqueting rooms, bedrooms and you can even take a peek inside the royal kitchens.
You can also visit the Royal Pavilion’s underground tunnels by booking a behind-the-scenes tour!
E Weisz Rubbish Removals
DS Norman Potting and DS Bella Moy investigate E Weisz Rubbish Removals on Palace Place. It’s found to be a fake address, given by the firm that posted a £10,000 reward for information on the murder of Clyde Graves.
Saltdean Beach
Grace and Branson walk up the steps from Saltdean Beach in Season 4 Episode 2, “Want You Dead”. They’re seen with the white cliffs behind them, as the reluctantly go to meet the reporter from The Argus.
Marine Drive
The location where Grace and Branson meet Siobhan, the reporter, is outside Whitecliffs Saltdean on Marine Drive. The mural you can see in the background, where the surfer photoshoot is taking place, is alongside the café.
Goldstone Caravan Park
Grace Season 4’s Goldstone Caravan Park location is Sunnyside Caravan Park at Buckle Rise, in the Seaford area. You can see the caravan park and parts of Newhaven in the episode - look out for Newhaven East Pier and Newhaven Breakwater in the distance.
The Seahorse
In Episode 3, “You Are Dead”, the restaurant filming location where DS Norman interviews Logan’s friend is The Seahorse at Kings Road, Brighton. It sits right above the beach, and as you can see in ITV’s Grace, it looks out over the old West Pier.
Meeting Room
The meeting room where Roy Grace reluctantly holds the press conference in Season 4 Episode 3 is actually part of Brighton i360.
Originally known as the British Airways 360 Experience or British Airways i360, the centrepiece is a 162-metre tower built by the designers of the London Eye. It’s actually just beside The Seahorse, slightly closer towards the West Pier’s ruins.
The Chattri Memorial
In the scene where Grace discovers the bodies in the field, the filming location is the Chattri Memorial, a World War I memorial in Patcham Down.
It commemorates 53 soldiers from the Indian Army who couldn’t be saved by medics at the Royal Pavilion, Corn Exchange and Brighton Dome.
Marina Way
The car crash scene in Grace Season 4 Episode 4, “Love You Dead”, was filmed on Marina Way in Brighton in August 2023, with local press on the scene.
This road leads down to Brighton Marina from Marine Parade. During the shoot, John Simm and Richie Campbell filmed scenes where Grace and Branson investigate a crime scene on the sliproad.
Chateau Basque
Grace’s real Chateau Basque location is Firle Place, a stately home in the South Downs National Park. The French chateau in ITV’s “Love You Dead” dramatisation is close to Lewes, the county town of East Sussex, and it’s actually the private home of the Gage family.
But Grade I-listed Firle House is also a wedding reception venue and it’s part of Historic Houses, opening to visitors on selected days.
Brighton Dome Theatre
John Simm and Richie Campbell were spotted filming in Pavilion Gardens and the Brighton Dome theatre in May 2023, as reported in The Argus.
In the scene, Branson and Grace come to the stage door as part of their investigation.
