Home Alone 2 was filmed in Chicago, Winnetka, New York’s Rockefeller Center, Battery Park, Radio City Music Hall, 6th Ave, 10th Ave and Queensborough Bridge. The McCallister house location is the same Illinois home from the first movie, and Chicago O’Hare International Airport returns for another dash through the departure lounge.
Is Duncan’s Toy Chest real? No, the Home Alone 2 toy shop was constructed in a Chicago retail building for the movie, but it’s based on a real New York institution – FAO Schwarz. The legendary toy store featured in the movie Big’s giant piano scene.
At the time of Home Alone 2’s filming, FAO Schwarz was situated on 5th Avenue, fairly close Kevin’s hotel. Since then, the toy store has changed hands, closed and reopened in another location from the movie, Rockefeller Plaza.
